Postcards4Democracy - West Seattle has been meeting weekly since 2017to enjoy conversation while writing postcards to promote democracy, together with friends over coffee and snacks!
We started by gathering in a living room and, over time, expanded to:
Every Tuesday year-round at C&P Coffee, 5612 California Ave SW, 10:30am-noon (although we often hang around after)
The first Saturday of each month, midday at C&P Coffee.
The third Thursday of each month 5-7 pm at Great American Diner, 4752 California Ave SW.
Join us! If these scheduled sessions don't work for you, use the resources here on this site or contact us to get started. Gather family or friends to write cards that get out the vote and fight back. Activism at home or wherever you meet your friends and neighbors is powerful!
Postcards with hand-written, targeted messages have a proven place in campaigns. You'll join writers from sea to sea in America. Thousands of volunteers across the country join forces to register new voters. Writers urge already registered Americans to vote in the upcoming elections.
Many organizations supply addresses and messages for these campaigns. Most of the address suppliers operate year-round; others work during specific election cycles. Special elections happen all through the year, and new voter registration is always valuable!
